Hawaii Birth Collective Launch Party + Art Exhibit
We both had captured some amazing birth stories via photos and film but we the only people that had ever seen our work were our clients! We believe birth is beautiful and that our photographic art should be shared and celebrated. So three weeks before First Friday in Chinatown in Honolulu on 4.7.17, we decided what better way to launch the Hawaii Birth Collective than with a birth art exhibit! We secured our venue, the gorgeous office building of Honolulu Office Centers and we began curating our art exhibit, choosing images, printing photographs and inviting guests.
Amber designed all of the print collateral and it looked so amazing! We had signups for birth worker to join the collective, we had info on the collective and signage for people who joined us from the streets for First Friday.
Amber hard at work hanging our beautiful birth artwork.
We were so blessed to have family and friends and fellow photographers come out to support our first exhibit.
Here are with local Oahu birth workers Summer, Katja, Jenna and Cate.
Lots of our clients joined us as well and saw their own images on the wall!
Chef Affron (Noelle's husband) of Affron's Soul Food catered the event with his delicious soul food.
We showed some birth films in a private screening room, the co-working space Noelle shared with other local artists.
